About Duffy McMahon
Duffy earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Psychology, graduating with honors from Ottawa University. She has since continued her education, working with several neurologists in studying the impact of stress and anger on the brain, with special interest in how it affects the workplace and its influence on the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
Duffy is certified in Anger and Stress Management, Listening Therapy, Educational Kinesiology and EEG Neurofeedback, and has studied with the Simonton Cancer Clinic. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, Harvard Learning and the Brain Society, The National Institute of Neurofeedback Practitioners and the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research.
Specializing in fear, stress, anger, anxiety and rage, Duffy has developed programs for both private clients and businesses. She regularly appears on both radio and television to discuss the effects of stress, anger, anxiety and focusing difficulties on individuals in today's society. She has also spoken at seminars dedicated to these issues.
Along with her husband Pat McMahon, Duffy owns The Idea Factory, a creative consulting company established in 1971. In this capacity, Duffy has worked with clients like Arizona Public Service, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Arizona, Arizona Heart Institute, and The Cancer Institute. The Idea Factory has also done consultation for non-profit organizations such as The Arizona Kidney foundation, The Arizona Cancer Association, Child Help, March of Dimes, The Arizona Alzheimer's Association, and Make-A-Wish Foundation, providing Duffy with additional insights into the needs of our community.
Duffy has received numerous awards over the years, including the Jaycee's Young Woman of the Year and The Humanitarian Award from The Malta Center. In 2001, Duffy and her husband Pat were named "First Family in the Arts" by the Herberger Theater.
